Italy Visa for Minors (Children): Documents & Requirements
2026-10-26 · 3 min read
Minors need their own visa
Every minor needs their own visa application and appointment. One parent (or guardian) submits on their behalf; minors 12+ may need to appear in person (varies by consulate).
Extra documents for minors
- Birth certificate showing both parents' names (translated & legalized if issued outside the US).
- Authorization to travel signed by both parents, notarized.
- Notarized copies of both parents' IDs.
- Financial responsibility declaration if sponsored.
Both parents' consent
Divorce or separation does not automatically grant one parent sole authority. Both parents' consent is generally required.
