Appointment system
LA uses the PRENOT@MI portal. The consulate says appointments become available from 3:00 pm local time. Applications can be submitted up to six months before the start of the planned trip. EU Visa Code Article 9(1) says an application is, as a rule, lodged no later than 15 calendar days before the start of the intended visit, and a consulate may accept a later application in a justified urgent case. The Los Angeles consulate states its own rule as no later than 15 calendar days before the departure date.
