Size and specs

The standard Schengen photo is 35 x 45 mm. But note: some US consulates (Detroit, Houston, Chicago) accept a 2 x 2 inch photo instead. Always check your consulate's requirement.

Key rules

• White background, no shadows.
• Full face, front view, neutral expression.
• Recent (within the last 6 months).
• No glasses with glare, no headwear unless religious.

What's not accepted

Scanned, photocopied, or photos printed on plain paper are rejected. Use a proper photo print.
